Prohibited items under Hong Kong Laws
Firearms - under the Firearms and Ammunition Ordinance, no person shall carry on firearms in the course of business or transaction, unless he/she is authorized to do so in the case of an operator’s license.
Firearms include:
• Any rifle, air gun, or pistol-type air gun with a muzzle energy in excess of 2 joules
• Guns, pistols or other pushers or throwers capable of emitting projectiles containing gas or chemicals
• Weapons capable of emitting harmful liquids, gases, powders or other similar things (including aerosols and pepper sprays)
• Harpoon or spear gun
• Portable devices (including electric guns, electric shocks) that are struck or stolen by electric shock
• Used as a component for firearms to launch projectiles
• Reduce firearms ringing sound or fire of firearms accessories
• Any weapon with a pull of more than 6 kg
Ammunition - Under the Firearms and Ammunition Ordinance, no person shall carry on ammunition in the course of business or transaction unless authorized to do so by the holder of an operator’s license.
Ammunition includes:
• Any ammunition used for firearms
• Harmful liquid, gas, powders, or other similar ammunition
• Grenades, bombs or other similar projectiles, as well as ducts, detonators and detonators for such objects
• Bullet for a bullet-driven nailer
• Shoot play, bullet or projectile
• Cartridge cases or bullet shells
Imitation of Firearms - Subject to the Firearms and Ammunition Ordinance, a person who except as otherwise provided in the case of firearms, possesses an imitation firearm, that is, anything which is in the form of a firearm, rifle-type air gun, air gun, pistol-type air gun or grenade.
Weapons - Under the law, anyone possessing prohibited weapons and biological, chemical or nuclear weapons, commits an offense. In addition, martial arts weapons must be in the possession of the Commissioner of Police beforehand.
Prohibited weapons include:
• Chinese darts
• Gravity knife
• Gravity operation of steel bars
• Knuckle sleeve
• Iron chains with handles
• Spring steel bars and knives exposed by springs or other mechanical or electrical means.
• Bladed or sophisticated weapons

The definition of Martial Arts Weapons: Weapons Ordinance - Chapter 217 Section 2 of the Laws of Hong Kong
Dangerous Goods - Prohibit the sale of any dangerous goods under the Dangerous Goods Ordinance; and Prohibit the sales of contraband as specified in the Dangerous Goods (General) Regulations.
Dangerous Goods include:
• Explosives
• Compressed gas
• Oil and other substances that give off steam
• Substances that emit toxic gases or vapors
• Corrosive substances
• Substances that become dangerous when interacting with water or air
• Substances that may ignite spontaneously or may burn at any time
• Radioactive material
• Prohibited goods under the Dangerous Goods (General) Regulations, including fireworks
Dangerous goods under the Dangerous Goods (General) Regulations see: Chapter 295B Section 182 of the Laws of Hong Kong.
Protected wildlife - Prohibit the sale of protected wildlife, parts of protected wildlife, nests or eggs, as provided for in the Wildlife Protection Ordinance.
Wildlife is defined in the Wild Animals Protection Ordinance - Chapter 170 Section 2 of the Laws of Hong Kong
Endangered Animals and Plants - Animals, animal parts, plants, highly endangered species and paring highly endangered species are prohibited under the Animals and Plants (Protection of Endangered Species) Ordinance.
Endangered Animals and Plants are defined in:

• Animals and Plants (Protection of Endangered Species) Ordinance - Part of Animals - Chapter 187 Section 2 of the Laws of Hong Kong
• Animals and Plants (Protection of Endangered Species) Ordinance - Plant - Chapter 187 Section 3 of the Laws of Hong Kong
• Animals and Plants (Protection of Endangered Species) Ordinance - Highly Endangered Species - Chapter 187 Section 6 of the Laws of Hong Kong
Sale of Animals and Animal Specimens - The trading system prohibits the sale of animals and animal specimens (such as non-endangered marine fish and certain insects are not subject to this restriction).
We also encourage users to refer to the relevant legislation on the sale of animals. If we find that the goods do not meet the requirements, not only will the goods be deleted immediately, the user will be warned and/or stop the use of the account.
Human Organ - Subject to the Human Organ Transplant Ordinance, the sale of any part of the human body that is constituted by a structural tissue which is not completely re-generable in the body, including but not limited to the heart, liver, lung, kidney and so on.
The trading system also prohibits the sale of any human organs (including those that can be reproduced in the body, such as hair, nails and teeth, etc.).
Traffic and Accommodation Arrangements - According to the Travel Agents Ordinance, no person shall operate unlicensed travel agent business which includes obtaining, on behalf of another person, the carriage (including sale of tickets and other ticketing services) for outbound and inbound travel or accommodation services.
Counterfeit banknotes - Prohibit the sale imitation of any currency note or imitation of a protected coin under the Crimes Ordinance.
False Stamps - Prohibit the sale of any stamps stamped, or stamped as fraudulently printed, or stamped as required by the Post Office Ordinance; Stamps which are removed from the mark and other materials fraudulently.
Stolen Goods - The sale of stolen goods and parts thereof (whether or not the goods are in their original state) is prohibited under the Theft Ordinance.
Lotteries - The sale of lotteries in connection with illegal lotteries is prohibited under the relevant ordinances. That is, without the approval of a license issued under the Betting Duty Ordinance, the Government Lotteries Ordinance or the Gambling Ordinance or a license granted under such ordinance or license of the lottery.
Obscene and Indecent Articles - The sale or publication of obscene articles is prohibited under the Control of Obscene and Indecent Articles Ordinance, which regulates the sale and distribution of indecent articles. Obscene and indecent articles include violence, corruption and repulsiveness; items include objects for reading or viewing, sound recordings or video recordings of images, videotapes, recorders or other records.
Adult Sex Products - The trading system banned the sale of any adult sexual supplies
Adult Movies - Under the Film Censorship Ordinance, all films sold in Hong Kong must be rated by the Television and Entertainment Licensing Authority as Grade 1, 2 or 3, which deals with the sale and screening of films rated 2 or 3 such as strict regulation. The trading system would prohibit the sale of any adult movies.
Child Pornography - Prohibit the sale of any photograph, film, computer-generated image or other visual depiction of a child or of a person depicted as a child under the Prevention of Child Pornography Ordinance.
Alcoholic Beverages - The trading system would prohibit the sale of alcoholic beverages (e.g. resale of alcoholic beverages originally purchased by the dealer and does not change its original container and may be delivered at the buyer's place of residence other than in violation of the law).
Tobacco Products - The trading system would prohibit the sale of any tobacco products, including cigarettes, cigarettes tobacco, cigars, pipe tobacco; also prohibit smokeless tobacco products (containing tobacco or tobacco as the main ingredient and intended for oral products) and chewing tobacco, whether it be a tobacco leaf, a hard smoke cake, a wet tobacco cake, a chewing tobacco or a chewing cigarette) and wet snuff, but does not include nasal inhalation.
Foodstuff - The sale of the following food items is prohibited under the relevant legislation:
Food items include:
• Damage to health by processing or handling food
• Food that is unfit for human consumption
• Food with false label
• Dye for foods other than permitted coloring materials
• Coloring matter or pigment and flavoring compounds used in food and not contained in containers containing a label complying with the regulation on Colouring Matter in Food Regulations
• Milk powder that does not comply with the Milk Regulations
• Not a permitted sweetener as specified in the Sweeteners In Food Regulations
• Any food containing metal food which exceeds the maximum allowable concentration or metal content of the Food Adulteration (Metallic Contamination Level) Regulations, which is sufficient to endanger or impair health, with a metal content exceeding the maximum allowable concentration
• Does not comply with the relevant requirements prescribed in the Food and Drugs (Composition and Labelling) Regulations or that the food or medicine is not prescribed in the manner prescribed in the Food and Drugs (Composition and Labelling) Regulations on the marks and labels
• Foodstuffs under the Food Business Regulation which are prohibited and restricted
• Frozen desserts imported into Hong Kong from a source of manufacture are not approved by the Director of Food and Environmental Department
• Foods containing certain over-high substances as defined in the Harmful Substances in Food Regulations and fish, meat or milk containing contraband substances
• Importing milks or milk beverages from Hong Kong without a source of manufacture approved by the Director of Food and Environmental Department
• Foods containing mineral oil
• Foods containing preservatives or antioxidants, except as specified in the Preservatives in Food Regulations

Dangerous Drugs and Instruments - Prohibit the sale of any dangerous drug and tubing, equipment or apparatus suitable for, intended for use in smoking, taking or injecting of a dangerous drug under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance - Chapter 134 Section 1 of the Laws of Hong Kong
Antibiotics, Pharmaceutics, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Poison - The trading system would prohibit the sale of any antibiotics, pharmaceuticals, herbs, poisons.
Pesticides - The trading system would prohibit the sale of pesticides

Radio transmitters, decoders:
Prohibit the sale of any radio communication apparatus designed or intended to be used for the transmission or radiating of radio waves, as provided in the Telecommunications Ordinance. Under the Broadcasting Ordinance, prohibiting the sale of a decoder for stealing paid TV programs.
Personal Data - Personal information is prohibited from being sold under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, which means any information directly or indirectly related to a living individual, and from which information may be directly or indirectly determine the identity of the person concerned, including but not limited to identity card number, credit card, telephone number, address, bank account number and so on.
Identity Documents - Prohibit the sale of travel documents, certificates of entitlement, entry permits, re-entry permits, identity cards, identity documents for visas, APEC Business Travel Passes, Travel Passes or Vietnamese Refugee Passes under the Immigration Ordinance, or any document issued, kept or prepared under or for the purposes of the Immigration Ordinance; falsified, false or unlawfully obtained or altered identity document, or forged, falsified or intended use for the purposes of the stated ordinance, illegal change of identity files.
Falsifying or Imitating a Trade Mark - According to the Trade Description Ordinance, goods which prohibit the sale of goods for which a forged trade mark is applied or which will be used in a false manner or which is likely to be deceived by a mark which is very similar to a trade mark, or a stamp, plate, machine or other instrument for the purpose of forging a trade mark.
Copyright Infringement Copy - Under the Copyright Ordinance, prohibit the sale of copyright-infringing copies or other items (including but not limited to pirated game cartridges or software).
Examinations Internal Scoring Documents - As provided for the Copyright Ordinance, prohibit the sale of any infringing internal examinations, including but not limited to the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination, or the copying of documents.
OEM or Computer Software - Under the Copyright Ordinance, prohibit the sale of OEM, Tray and Standalone CD-ROMs. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) software means that the software is limited to the sale together with the computer or only with peripheral equipment sold with the software. Computer software means that the software is included with the purchase of the computer to restore the disc or the terms of the software can not be independently transferred to the software.
[Exception] A restored disc that was sold with the original computer.
Parallel Importation of Goods (Music and videos, movies, TV series, e-books) - Under the Copyright Ordinance, prohibit the sale of illegal imports or infringed parallel imports. Illegal or infringing goods means that the goods are lawfully issued and sold in a foreign country, but the goods are imported into Hong Kong and the Hong Kong itself has a local distributor or the goods have the copyright holders of the following documents bound by the agreement documents. Otherwise, goods cannot be sold in Hong Kong including music and videos, movies, TV series, e-books.
[Exception] Goods are imported in parallel after 18 months of publication in any place.
Sale of Tickets - Prohibit the sale of tickets for entertainments, exhibitions, performances, amusements, games or sports held by proprietors, managers or relevant establishments beyond the premises in question in accordance with the provisions of the Places of Public Entertainment Ordinance (with tax) of the ticket price or ticket.
Triad Society Articles - Under the Societies Ordinance, sale of articles belonging to or relating to any branch of a triad society, including but not limited to books, accounts, documents, membership lists, seals , a banner or a badge.
Sexuality Services - No one is allowed to post articles about sexual acts or services (whether or not involving any transactional component).
Uniforms - Prohibit the sale of uniforms by the Government and the private institutions.
Group Logo Items - Prohibit the sale of items bearing the same or similar insignia, symbol or logo as those listed below or similar to the following groups:
• Hong Kong Scout Association
• Hong Kong Girls Guides Association
• Hong Kong Red Cross
• Hong Kong St. John Ambulance
Sale of Contact Lenses - No contact lenses are available for sale under the Consumer Goods Safety Ordinance and the Optometrists (Registration and Disciplinary Procedure) Regulation under the Supplementary Medical Professions Ordinance.
Membership - Membership is not permitted for sale.
Promotion or Promotional messages - Promotion or promotional messages that are not related to the product or service transaction (whether direct or indirect) are prohibited.
Leasing / Rental - Whether for physical or hypocritical items, the trading system prohibits the leasing / rental of any object.
